Windshield Repair or Replacement?
If your vehicle's windshield gets damaged, the question becomes - should I repair or replace it? We know that something needs to be done because visibility obstructions are safety threats. Knowing whether you could repair or need replacement comes down to the kind and degree of glass damage. If the damage is excessive and cannot be fixed by repair service, then we will remove the damaged windshield and install a brand new genuine OEM windshield.
Should I Repair Windshield Damages?
Yes, you should fix windshield damages because they reduce visibility, and by default, safety. Repairing small cracks is important because glass cracks usually get worse when left unattended.
Windshield Repair
The repair process restores the shape and transparency of the original glass. The chipped glass is cleaned and prepared by removing loose obstructions. A special resin is injected into the damaged glass. The technician might drill holes at the end of cracks to prevent spreading. This part of the process demands an expert's skill as it requires drilling to but not through the underlying resin polymer precisely. Heat is applied to the resin to start the drying and curing process. After curing for approximately 30 minutes, the windshield is good-as-new and ready for safe travels.
